On April 12, 1980, Terry Fox began the Marathon of Hope, an ambitious endeavor to run across Canada in order to raise funds for cancer research. Diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at a young age, Terry overcame numerous obstacles and ultimately became an inspiration to people throughout the world.
