Alice runs through the garden and jumps on a train with some unusual fellow passengers. Afterward, she finds herself deep in conversation with a friendly gnat about the insects in her world. She seems to melt out of that world and into a forest, where a fawn tries to help her remember who she is. Alice ends up en route to the houses of Tweedledum and Tweedledee as she attempts to progress through the chess-game world she finds herself in.
