Sara is making her way through the cold, mud-filled streets on her errands when she finds a coin in the street. Ravenous, she uses the coin to purchase some warm rolls from a bakery. On her way out, she sees a beggar girl huddled near the entrance, worse off than she is. Sara gives the girl five rolls, saving just one for herself. On her way home, she spots Mr. Carrisford's lawyer preparing for a long journey-the search for Sara Crewe continues.
