Running for Freedom follows the path of young Daniel and his father as they escape from slavery. Through the Underground Railroad, they are eventually led across the Ohio River and onto free soil. Both are driven by the desire to find Daniel's mother, who was sold to another family when Daniel was very young. Illustrations, photos, and maps enhance the text.
