Shelters take in stray animals and try to find the perfect families to adopt them. Before an animal can be adopted, it must be spayed or neutered, get a microchip, and be healthy. Hampton and Brownie are two dogs that met at a shelter. Hampton was blind, so Brownie would help him get around by nudging him. A woman adopted both Hampton and Brownie so they could stay together. In addition to finding homes for pets, some animal shelters care for injured wild animals. All shelters share the goal of making animals' lives better.
