Michael Faraday

Born to a poor family in 1791, and with very little formal education, Michael Faraday was able to overcome obstacles to become the "Father of Electricity." He made important discoveries in chemistry, light, and magnetism, and was an inspiration to later scientists including Albert Einstein.
