This is the most widely read title in the seven-book series, The Chronicles of Narnia. In this story, four children enter the land of Narnia through a wardrobe in an old house. Narnia is under the spell of an evil White Witch. Edmund, enchanted by the Witch's promises of power, chooses the evil side. The other three children join forces with Aslan, the great lion, to break the Witch's spell. After a fierce battle, Aslan trades his own life for Edmond's. Then Aslan returns from the dead, kills the Witch, and crowns the four children as rulers of Narnia. They reign for many years, but when they return through the wardrobe, no time has passed in their ordinary world.
