This story is about a boy named Bus Mercer. Bus wants desperately to make the All-Star little league baseball team. He gets a new mountain bike for his birthday. When Bus breaks his parents' rules about riding the bike, he feels very guilty. He starts making errors and can't concentrate during the games. Finally Bus sets things right with his parents and, feeling better, he begins to play better. He is chosen to be a substitute for the All-Star team and will work hard to make the team next year.
