Unusually heavy winter snows and spring rainstorms have produced two destructive forces in the United States this spring. Help students understand the conditions that combine to produce severe flooding — greater than the typical seasonal floods that farmers have relied on for centuries — and storms that produce tremendous tornadoes and other severe or violent weather.
