Level Z represents the last level in the Reading A-Z series of leveled books. Once students complete this level, they should be able to read a wide variety of grade-level-appropriate print material and, with ongoing exposure to more difficult materials, continue to sharpen their reading skills. Use a Level Z Benchmark Book, the corresponding Running Record Form and Benchmark Quick Check to assess whether students have become proficient at Level Z.
