• Identify the author's purpose
• Identify quotation and punctuation marks in text
• Identify homophones used in text

Materials

• Book -- Adventures with Abuela (copy for each student)
• Chalkboard or dry erase board, colored pencils, United States map, dictionaries
• KWL chart, quotation and punctuation marks, homophones worksheets

Indicates an opportunity for student to mark in the book. (All activities may be completed with paper and pencil if books are reusable.)
