Lesson Plans for THE BUFFALO HUNT Level N

After Reading

Comprehending the Text
Draw the group together again and discuss the stories.
Say: What happens to Wind-in-the-Treetops? Why does he want to go on the hunt? Is it easy for him to join the hunt? How does he feel during the hunt? How does he feel after the hunt? Wind-in-the-Treetops encounters a conflict in the story – what is it? How is the conflict resolved (fixed or worked out)?
After children have shared with one another, discuss as a group how the events deal with the conflict and resolve it.

Visual Learning
Ask: Did you need to use any of the illustrations to help you understand the story? If you look at page five, can you tell what is happening in the story from the illustration?
