• Blend onset and rime
• Identify beginning consonants
• Recognize and understand the use of periods
• Identify high-frequency words

• Book -- I Pick Up (copy for each student)
• Chalkboard or dry erase board
• Problem and solution, initial consonants, high-frequency words worksheets
