		We realize that as time goes by, teachers and students will continue to look for ways to understand the recent tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. Reading A-Z has created this educational packet to help teachers and students understand the events surrounding Hurricane Katrina. In addition to the book Hurricanes, the packet provides charts, a glossary, and activity sheets about hurricanes in general and Hurricane Katrina in particular. The packet also provides information on how to cope with the aftermath and how to prepare for future emergencies. All materials are provided for use at your discretion. You may wish to discuss and work through the activity sheets with your students or simply make them available to students who have questions about recent events.
