The sh digraph is highly reliable in terms of the sound that it makes. In almost all cases, the sh digraph represents the sound as in shoe. The digraph sh can appear in the initial, final, and medial positions as in shoe, fish, and wishbone. The /sh/ sound can also be written as ch as in champagne and chef, s as in sure, ss as in mission and fissure, and t as in lotion and motion.
