After reading the Level C books, readers should be able to progress to Level D. Use a Level C Benchmark Book, the corresponding Running Record Form and Benchmark Quick Check to assess whether students are ready to move on.

Benchmark books are an assessment tool to determine if a reader is ready to advance to the next level. Benchmark books do not have lesson plans or worksheets.
