Benchmark Books

After reading the Level aa books, your young readers should be able to progress to Level A. Use a Level aa Benchmark Book and the corresponding Running Record Form to assess whether your students are ready to move on.

Benchmark books are an assessment tool to determine if a reader is ready to advance to the next level. Benchmark books do not have lesson plans or worksheets.
