Book Summary

Hattie and her two friends, Sybil and Sarah, go to Crying Rock for a picnic. While Sarah and Sybil are away for a moment, Hattie climbs up Crying Rock. Just as she is about to turn back, she hears someone singing. It turns out to be a little mermaid. Hattie takes the mermaid home and keeps her in a teacup. Hattie's friends tease her, believing the mermaid is just a toy. But Hattie knows better.
